Historic Past
The Hermitage Motor Inn is located in a quiet side street within the City's designated heritage precinct.
The motel is built on the site of Lister House, a charming 2-storey Victorian building, housing a private hospital in which Australian war hero Edward "Weary" Dunlop was born. A plaque at the Motel commemorates his birth in 1907.
The entrance to reception incorporates the original leadlight door and the verandah features replica iron lace from the old building. |
