Modern & Comfortable, Off-Highway Accommodation in Wangaratta

Our guests love the fact that the Hermitage Motor Inn is the quietest motel in Wangaratta. Although we are based right in the city centre, we are located on a quaint side street rather than roadside along the bustling highway that slices through town.

All the rooms at the Hermitage Motor Inn offer spacious, comfortable areas and furnishings, modern new appointments, fresh quality linens, large TV and Free Wi-Fi. Our rooms provide split-system air-conditioning and heating, and each are maintained as strictly non-smoking rooms.

We offer short-term or longer-term stays and individual and group accommodation options. Each room is only steps away from our clean swimming pool, garden, BBQ area and outdoor dining area.

Historic Past

The Hermitage Motor Inn is located within the City of Wangaratta’s designated heritage precinct.

The motel is built on the site of Lister House, a charming 2-storey Victorian building housing a private hospital in which Australian war hero Edward "Weary" Dunlop was born. A plaque at the Motel commemorates his birth in 1907.

The entrance to reception incorporates the original leadlight door and the veranda features replica iron lace from the old building.
